Bordeaux in top 10 destinations of 2016
Tripadvisor releases their Travelers' Choice Top 10 Destinations
The well known website has published a list of the world's favourite tourist destinations, and when we take at look at France in detail we find that our beautiful city of Bordeaux comes in at number four.
"Controlled by the British for 300 years, Bordeaux is one of the most un-French cities in France (a good or bad thing, depending on your tastes). What was once a sleepy city (literally nicknamed "Sleeping Beauty" in French) is now a thriving tourist destination and mecca for wine enthusiasts. The city's boundless energy is supplemented by the spirited university population. Unless you've been wine-tasting all day... then you'll probably sleep quite well."
Coming in behind the country's capital Paris at number one, with Nice and Lyon at numbers two and three, the city of Bordeaux has been recognised for it's architectural beauty and for the historic wine industry which attracts millions visitors each year.
