Chateau Rigaud Hotel, East Bordeaux

Blurring the boundaries between boutique hotel & private house rental

featured in Hotels

This rural chateau set in the heart of the Bordeaux vines. With a passionate, attentive team running this working French country estate. Most bookings are for the chateau as a whole, group holidays, birthdays, parties and weddings. Or you can book just a room and join in the party.

Chateau Rigaud boast a variety of superior suites each one spacious and unique. Many with large 4 poster beds and roll top baths. A few also have small annex's which can fit small beds or cots for children.

This Medieval Chateau has a great sense of space, with ancient stone fireplaces and enormous oak beams. A comfortable cinema room, family lounge with roaring log fires, the chapel bar is the scene of many late night/early mornings, Maroc lounge for a bit or peace and quiet, the boudoir spa for massage and relaxation and the children's nursery means that whether you are relaxing or partying you can always find something to do.

But if the chateau itself doesn't entertain you enough well then there is plenty to do in the grounds. A large heated swimming pool with sun loungers, an adventure playground, a games barn with table tennis, a vegetable garden you can get involved with and help pick something for that evenings meal. Or tire yourself out by playing and walking the resident chateau dog, Hobo in the chateau's woodland walks or just in the fields.

  • "Spent a week here at the start of September for a wedding. Had an amazing time. The chateau itself is beautiful and full of old world charm. Chefs were amazing and served up 5 star cuisine. Rooms and grounds were spotless at all times and the location is great. The staff are the real stars of this place and were extremely kind and helpful - even let their hair down with us on one of the nights. - Wheel barrow ice bucket challenge included ;) Chateau Rigaud did not disappoint. Thanks again everyone. Maybe see you again some day!" - Trip Advisor
  • "You can't get better! Steve the chef went on holiday and left us with Rupert in charge... well we didn't need to worry! Incredible food!! Mussels and seared tuna, a colourful array of delicious salads with fresh produce. (steak and goat's cheese salad - my favourite) cakes to die for (thank you Helen too!) I am still dreaming of it all. I would get married there - if I wasn't already married! Lovely tranquil place." - Trip Advisor
  • "Even better than 5 years ago what could be better surrounded by good friends and a chef like Steve to look after our every need. The welcome from all the staff with bubbly and cake on arrival set the tone. The food was fantastic with everyones needs taken care of even special salads and canapes to avoid likes and dislikes. Rooms are lovely each with its own quirks and facilities fufilling all our need with great weather allowing lunch outside in the sun. Thanks to all the staff, Fiona and Aibe and Anna." - Trip Advisor
  • "Perfect weekend retreat (even in late November!) for a large group to celebrate! Anna has a put together a great team and the service was just that right level of attention whilst allowing guests to feel at home. Steve's food is seriously good and Fiona made sure everything clicked. Will come back again as soon as I can think of another excuse ... bravo!!" - Trip Advisor
