EURO 2016 kicks off in Bordeaux
The matches, street parties, fan-zones & concerts of UEFA EURO 2016
We've waited a long time...but finally it's here, the first day of the UEFA EURO 2016 football tournament in France.
The first match kicks off at Stade de France in Saint Denis tonight with France taking on Romania in a Group A match. It begins at 21:00 and there is sure to be a festive atmosphere both in and out of the stadium. Huge screens have been set up in the host towns, including Bordeaux, with an accompanying fan-zone.
All your 'fan' needs have been thought of and catered for during this tournament. Split over ten host cities you have a chance to explore some of the most famous, historical and lively cities in France.
You can even play a little extra time in Bordeaux and meet a local through Greeters online. Originating in New York in the USA Greeters welcome tourists by offering their time to share their passion for a city or area, during a walking tour and a true friendly encounter. For EURO 2016 Greeters are giving you an opportunity to meet a local. Whether you are alone, with family or friends, you will discover Bordeaux as well as their passion for it. It’s time to play extra time with a local… It’s time to chat about the games… or not!
