A private golf course originally opened in the area in 1895, and then in 1902 the town of Arcachon acquired the grounds. 3. Golf du Medoc Golf Courses, Le Pian Medoc

Created in 1989, the Golf du Médoc offers 2 remarkable 18-hole courses: Les Châteaux and Les Vignes.

Ranked among the 100 best golf courses in Continental Europe, these two competition courses regularly host International Championships. Together, the courses boast 3.8 hectares of greens which are perfectly maintained throughout the course of the year.

The Chateaux Course is Par 71 and was designed by Bill Coore in 1989. Adhering to the traditions of a Scottish 'links' course, the wide fairways are bordered by heathers, gorse and broom. This is a stunning course in the heart of the Medoc.

The Vignes Course is also a Par 71 and was designed by Rod Whitman in 1991. Lush with maritime pines the long pars are punctuated by elaborate greens and obstacles that demand thought and precision from the player.

The Training Centre offers coaching and lessons at an unparalleled level. Equipped with the latest technologies they run training courses, private and group lessons and specialist teaching weekends, for beginners through to the most experienced of amateur players.
