Both the full and half marathon courses are closed completely to traffic, and lead runners along the Garonne river, through the center of Bordeaux. They traverse the sprawling vineyards, and return through the historic heart of the city, passing by places rich in heritage.
Throughout the course, musical and cultural performances are organised along the aid stations to keep athletes and spectators energised through the night.
