La Co(o)rniche Restaurant, Pyla-sur-Mer
Sophisticated restaurant serving fresh local produce with wonderful views of the beach
This restaurant is part of the Hotel La Co(o)rniche which dominates the Pilat-Plage area, a neighbourhood based around the dune of Pilat. It is located in an old Basque-style hunting lodge and oyster farming house from the 1930s, which have been renovated by the famous designer Philippe Starck.
They serve creative French cuisine made with fresh ingredients from hand-picked local producers. The ample menu, with seasonal dishes that change daily, can be enjoyed with one of the more than 400 references included in their wine list.
The luxurious dining room and chilled terrace overlook the beach and the national natural reserve of the Banc d'Arguin. They also celebrate events here. There is a small private room with capacity for 50 people, while the main room, Salon Starck, can accommodate up to 100-130 people.
