Chateau Suduiraut, Preignac

Historical estate producing wine of the Sauternes variety

featured in Vineyards & estates Updated

The current castle at the heart of the estate dates back to the 17th century, and is included in the French cultural heritage register. They produce a Sauternes wine classified as Premier Cru Classé in 1855.

The beautiful chateau is surrounded by gardens designed by royal gardener Le Notre, which can still be visited today. The 92-hectares vineyards are located on a unique terroir which produces the particular grapes for Sauternes wine.

Their Premier Cru wine is fully produced by hand, and they have other three whites that are made at the estate.

When to come

They welcome visitors for private tours by appointment only, from Monday to Saturday. The visit includes a tour of the vineyard and cellars and a tasting of Grand Vin Château Suduiraut and Castelnau de Suduiraut. They also organise aroma workshops and tasting menus.
