Chateau Ferriere, Margaux

Beautiful chateau in Margaux producing an organic 3eme Cru Classé

Imprint
Updated

One of the smallest and more exclusive vineyards of all the Grand Crus Classés in 1855, this chateau has 18 hectares of vines in the prestigious Margaux area, by the Gironde river.

The name of the estate comes from its founder, Gabriel Ferriere, a royal wine broker in Bordeaux in the middle of the 18th century. In 1855, their wine was classified Third Cru. Their current owners are the Villars family who undertook major renovations in 2013, converting the property to biodynamic agriculture techniques and certified organic in 2015.

Their wines are made with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grape varieties.
