The wines of this château fall under the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation and have been declared Cru Bourgeois quality. It is the oldest vineyard in the Médoc, with mentions that date back to the 15th century.
This château in the Médoc region has caves from 1871, which were built near the Moulis railway station so that horse-drawn carriages didn't have to go far to load their wines onto trains heading for Europe. The magnificent building was constructed opposite the wine caves by J. Petit-Laroche as a wedding gift for his wife. It blends the architectural styles of the mid and end of the 17th century with those of the Renaissance.
The estate has 63 hectares of vineyards, of which a 52% is Cabernet, 41% Merlot and 7% Petit Verdot.
