Competition is set to be held on a temporary track which will be constructed on the Esplanade des Quinconces, one of the largest city squares in Europe.
The UEC believe the venue will be ideal for the cyclists who will be taking part, with fans expected to be attracted to the event due to its city centre location.
It will also conclude a series of BMX initiatives which are planned to be held in Bordeaux ahead of the annual event, including the French National Championships which will take place the week before.
